**Birdwatching Highlights: Robert H. Long Nature Park**
Join Detroit Bird Alliance leaders Alicia Robb and Kathy Garrett for an engaging birding experience at the picturesque Robert H. Long Nature Park in Commerce Township. This urban oasis features a flat, approximately 2-mile limestone path that winds through marshland and around a serene lake, providing ample opportunities to spot waterfowl and the graceful Barn Swallows.

**Event Details:**
Participants will meet in the parking lot, and entry to the park is free. As you walk, keep an eye out for impressive species including Great Blue Herons, Mute Swans, Sandhill Cranes, Great Egrets, Mallards, and more! A highlight of the event will be the stunning covered wooden bridge that serves as a nesting hotspot for dozens of Barn Swallows.

**Tips for Attendees:**
– There are no restroom facilities, so please plan accordingly.
– The trail has sunny stretches, so wear sunscreen and bring water.
– The terrain is mostly flat, but be prepared for muddy sections; wear shoes that can handle a bit of dirt.
