On June 9, Bennett was named the 2022-23 Gatorade Michigan Softball Player of the Year, with a .598/.664/1.295 offensive slash line, 18 home runs, 20 doubles, 60 runs, and 63 RBIs on the year. Her powerful pitching was also unparalleled, as she held an 11-5 record with a 1.12 ERA and 239 strikeouts in 131.2 innings this season. Bennett’s outstanding performance led Novi to a 25-12-1 record on the year. As if that wasn’t enough, Bennett will continue her collegiate softball career at the University of South Carolina this year as the nation’s No. 18 recruit in the Class of 2023, according to Extra Inning Softball – further proof of Bennett’s outstanding achievement.

Bennett achieved a fantastic milestone by earning Division 1 academic all-state honors with a 4.06 GPA, and she has made lasting impacts in her community through her volunteer activities. Bennett devoted her time to the Novi High School Unified basketball team, which allows people with and without disabilities to play sports together. Furthermore, Bennett also served as an elementary school classroom aide. Emma Prahin, another standout from Novi softball, was named Division 1 all-state honorable mention for the utility spot in 2023. Prahin demonstrated her versatility during the season as she performed well both in the infield and on the mound, making her an invaluable team member.
Her ability to play any position and dominate the field earned her recognition as a true utility player. With Prahin leading the way, Novi High School is in excellent hands for the 2024 season.
As the only senior, Prahin is expected to lead the team with her hard work and dedication. Her exemplary composure and drive have earned her the honor of being the top pitcher for the team. The team looks forward to having Emma on board next year and witnessing her leadership development.
