The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi was the place for Motor City Comic Con, as an array of incredibly talented Michigan cosplayers arrived in illustrious costumes portraying their most beloved onscreen characters. Daryl from Garden City proudly portrayed Dudley Do-Right, Kaleigh from Grand Rapids entered the event with a female Beetlejuice inspired by the Victorian era costume, Casey from Ann Arbor embodied Elliott from “ET” and Amelia (4) from Waterford dramatically transformed herself into Leia Organa from “Obi-Wan.” Craig and Rick from Metro Detroit were resplendent in Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise-inspired costumes, and Arianna from Troy perfectly mimicked Yondu from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Arianna from Troy nailed Yondu from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
They proudly present an array of notable Michigan residents dressed as some of their favorite characters from movies, TV, and video games. Brian from Canton pulled off a stellar Bob Ross look; Luis from Hammond, Indiana was the spitting image of Barf from “Spaceballs”; David and James (4) from St. Clair Twp. both brought Pennywise and Georgie from “It” to life; Melissa from Detroit perfectly captured Thor; George, yes that’s his real name, from Livonia nailed the George Michael look; Ryan from Frankenmuth spooked us all with his Art the Clown from “Terrifier” look; Cordell from Blissfield was a dead ringer for Megamind; Christina and Matt from Flint embodied Kitana and Sub Zero from “Mortal Kombat”; Cadence from Shelby Township was the perfect Hawkgirl; Lauren and Sarah from Eastpointe were Doc and Marty from “Back to the Future”; Hazey and Jameson from Jackson had us all on edge with their Clickers from “The Last of Us” costumes; and John from Ferndale was a very frightening Ultramarine from “Warhammer.”
Motor City Comic Con at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi was a massive hit as pop culture fans, celebrities, gamers, artists, and vendors from all over the country attended the event. Among them were also some incredibly talented cosplayers who turned heads with their unique costumes. Jarod from Eastpointe channeled his inner “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Craig from Belleville showed off his Hulk Hogan look, while Gunar from Ortonville donned a Space Cowboy costume from “Firefly” and Kalin from Ortonville dressed as Shallan Davar from “The Stormlight Archive.” Similarly, Kaelyn from Roseville rocked an outfit from Scarefest Scream Park in Lenox, Michigan, Miki from Texas showcased an original design, and Hazey and Jameson from Jackson made a splash as Clickers from “The Last of Us.” Finally, Daryl from Garden City made a bold entrance with his Dudley Do-Right interpretation of “Rocky and Bullwinkle.”

Little Amelia, four years old from Waterford, dressed as Leia Organa from the “Obi-Wan” series. Cadence from Shelby Township was determined to show off her Hawkgirl costume, complete with an impressive wingspan. John from Ferndale worked hard on his Ultramarine costume from “Warhammer.” It was clear that they put in incredible effort and dedication to make their costumes look amazing.
Luis from Hammond, Indiana, put on a stunning cosplay performance as Barf, the character made famous by the late, great John Candy in the comedy film “Spaceballs.” Jarod from Eastpointe and Craig from Belleville joined the fun, cosplaying as Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Christopher Lloyd would have been proud to see Lauren and Sarah from Eastpointe capture his characters of Doc and Marty from “Back to the Future” perfectly. These amazing cosplays are sure to make any fan proud!
Casey proudly showed off his creative cosplay: Elliott from “E.T.,” with Casey hailing from Ann Arbor. Gunar, from Ortonville, made a statement dressed as Space Cowboy from “Firefly”; Kalin, also from Ortonville, stunned in Shallan Davar from “The Stormlight Archive”; and Miki, all the way from Texas, shined in an original outfit. Lastly, Cordell from Blissfield channeled his inner Will Ferrell and recreated the look of Megamind.
George from Livonia is proud to be known for his impressive George Michael costume. He was delighted to meet Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn at the event, where Arianna from Troy was showing off her Yondu costume from “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Lastly, Melissa from Detroit completed the group with her stunning Thor costume.

At Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Michigan, attendees dressed in various creative cosplay styles. Those in attendance displayed great skill and ingenuity with beautiful renditions of their favorite characters. From trying to recreate the spirit of “E.T.” to honor the late great “Macho Man,” Randy Savage, showgoers could not be prouder than these talented people. Whether Karen from Troy becomes Leia Organa from “Obi-Wan,” Gunar from Ortonville as an excellent Space Cowboy, or Daryl from Garden City portrays Dudley Do-Right, the convention hall is impressive. Such passion for the arts will undoubtedly bring more costumed thrills to future events.
